Worldwide release of the film “Dr. Ehrlich’s Magic Bullet”, from 1940, of the biographical drama genre, directed by William Dieterle and starring Edward G. Robinson and Ruth Gordon. The script, by John Huston, is based on the letters and notes of Doctor Paul Ehrlich, discoverer of the cure for syphilis, and has the courage to address syphilis at a time when venereal diseases were a taboo topic in major Hollywood studios.
