DESCRIPTION:For the first time\, the poem by Girolamo Fracastorii has been fully published in a book containing photos of the original from 1530\, in Latin\, accompanied by the Portuguese version. Much of this Portuguese version was prepared by the Portuguese doctor Bettencourt Raposo\, between 1883 and 1885. Part of it was presented in a magnificent book on syphilis\, by Afrânio do Amaral\, in 1966. Part was also due to the tireless effort of the doctor\, professor\, and writer Mauro Romero Leal Passos who finished the Portuguese version\, and acted as the link between all the works\, in 2021.
