Claude Quétel

Claude Quétel was born on December 30th, 1939. A French historian and teacher born in Bernières-surMer (Calvados). Author of two dozen books, he won several awards for his work, including the “Prix Marianne 2015”, with “The scary Doctor Petiot — crazy or guilty?”, “Prix Therouanne 1982”, with “De par le Roy: Essay on stamp letters”, and “Prix Therouanne 1989”(silver medal) for La Bastille. His book “Le Mal de Naples: histoire de la syphilis”, Editions Seghers (Paris, 1986) is a rare work that deserves all our applause. It has been translated into English.
